builds structures using bricks, concrete blocks or natural stones, depending on the material in which he or she specializes. These structures include walls, walkways and fences. They mostly work on residential buildings but they may also construct commercial buildings. Masons are classified by the material with which they work. IMI has a rich history that dates back to 1946 year when C.C. Skunk Irving began selling ready mix concrete and stone in Greenfield, Indiana. The post-war construction boom proved to be fertile ground for a building materials supplier in central Indiana. However, Skunk had a vision for growing the company beyond Greenfield. He believed that through hard work and innovation, IMI could become a leader in the building materials industry. Since then, IMI has grown to supply concrete to six states through our four regional operational centers and mines stone, sand and gravel throughout Indiana. Along the way, IMI has developed a number of forward-thinking processes that have helped our customers operate more effectively. This includes designing the front discharge mixer that is now a staple of the concrete industry. It also includes hundreds of concrete batch mixes and specialty admixtures that make pouring and finishing concrete quicker and easier.
